Ditka INT

Behind the name Ditka International hides my original songwriting story in the English language — songs I've been writing since my teenage years. English is a language that feels very natural to me and most of my lyrical ideas are born in it. This work is deeply personal and valuable part of my artistic output.

These are stories from the depths of my soul, often created as responses to inner questions, frustrations and always served as a release of accumulated emotions and thoughts. Writing is a form of therapy for me, and when a song is born out of the deepest wounds and perhaps stirs something in someone else, that is the most beautiful gift and a soothing of the heart.

These are songs I’ve already presented abroad several times with positive results (winner of the Sofia Singer/Songwriter Festival, finalist at the UK Singer/Songwriter Festival, semifinalist on the USA Unsigned Only songwriting competition, semifinalist in the International Songwriting Competition, and a collaboration with British producer Stuart Epps / known for working with Elton John, Led Zeppelin, and others).

In 2025, some of these songs will be featured on my first full studio album entirely in English.

Just like my poetry in Slovene, my original English songs are stories worth listening to.

Ditka International pod svojim imenom skriva mojo avtorsko zgodbo v angleškem jeziku. Skladbe, ki jih pišem že vse od svojih najstniških let in zame predstavljajo zelo dragocen in pomemeben del mojega opusa. Angleški jezik mi je zelo blizu in ideje za besedila se pri meni največkrat rodijo prav v tem jeziku. To so zgodbe iz globine moje duše, ki so največkrat nastale kot odgovor na notranja vprašanja, frustracije, … in zmeraj pomenile osvoboditev nakopičenih čustev in misli. Pisanje je zame neke vrste terapija in ko se iz najglobljih ran rodi pesem, ki morda nekaj prebudi še v nekom, je to najlepše darilo in pomiritev srca. 

To so skladbe s katerimi sem se nekajkrat že predstavila v tujini in požela dobre uspehe (zmaga na Sofia Singer/Songwriter Festivalu, finale skladateljskega tekmovanja UK Singer/Songwriter Festival, polfinale skladateljskega tekmovanja USA Unsigned Only, polfinale skladateljskega tekmovanja International Songwriting Competition, sodelovanje z britanskim producentom Stuartom Eppsem /sodeloval z Elton Johnom, Led Zeppelini, idr.)

V letu 2025 bo nekaj pesmi zazvenelo tudi na mojem prvem studijskem albumu, ki bo v celoti v angleškem jeziku.

Tako kot poezija v slovenskem jeziku, so tudi moje avtorske pesmi zgodbe, ki jim je vredno prisluhniti.
